I have a '41 1 1/2 ton. It had been sitting for about 5 yrs. About a month ago I drove it out of the garage to look at one of the front brakes, then drove it back. Two weeks later, I go to again back it out of the garage and the clutch will not disengage. I have tried driving it (after starting it in gear) depressing the clutch, then hitting the brakes multiple times to no avail. I have also put the rear end up on jack stands and did the same thing, still no change. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks This message was edited by morengin on 6-14-25 @ 12:09 PM

Try driving the car down a deserted road in either 2nd or 3rd gear at 30 MPH with the clutch pedal fully depressed while fully applying (slamming on) the brakes. If you are fortunate, the clutch plate will brake loose from the flywheel and pressure plate to free up. You may have to do this several times to free up the clutch.

same thing happened to my 41 1 1/2 ton, ended up pulling floorboard up, removed driveshaft and used two long bolts for guides slid the trans back a few inches and used a piece of strapping to free up stuck to flywheel clutch disc

Years ago I had a '40 1 1/2 ton cab and chassis that had a stuck clutch. I jacked up the rear end so the rear tires could spin freely. I then started the truck and ran it in high gear. I pushed in the clutch and jammed on the brakes at the same time and after a couple of tries the clutch broke free. ______________ No signature
