I’ve been having numerous fuel system issues on my model 18. See my other post on the fuel pump. I pulled the unit and learned that it had been modified and has numerous pinholes right above where someone attached a fuel screen. That may be contributing to a vacuum problem and sucks air unless the tank is half full. Where could I get aftermarket replacement that would still have the little fuel level cups that drive the gas gauge? Need it pretty quickly.

You might want to contact the folks at C&G to see if they have the parts you need. https://cgfordparts.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=fuel%20tank%20sending%20unit&finder%5B1%5D=4761&finder%5B2%5D=787578&finder%5B3%5D=788057&find=find

There are a couple of places to try to find another sender: Southside Obsolete in Minn, Third Gen Auto in Tenn are a couple. Liquid toilet bowl cleaner can be used to clean the brass and any small pin holes or cracks can be soldered closed. Use low temperature silver solder available through a hardware store. I do not see a screen. The two brass tube fittings at the top are also connected to brass tubes with solder joints. The tubes pass through the steel mounting and are soldered there. Cleaning and looking closely for cracked solder joints throughout the entire assembly is important. If in a hurry repair is faster than shipping. When reattaching the double fuel and hydrostatic lines use wrenches on both sides of the fittings to prevent movement that can lead to cracks.
