I am having difficulty in locating suitable small 6 V front turn signal lights (preferably LED) for my 35 Ford. I wish to install them on the bumper, not in the horns. Can anyone out there help me? Thanks, pfrancis

pfrancis,on my '37 front and rear i have mounted with hardware store L bracketry to the bumper irons so they just peek over bumpers.i got the bullet shaped chrome lights off amazon. at the time probably 4 yrs ago i just switched the 12 volt bulbs that came with to equivalent 6volt bulbs. also about a year ago i got some 6volt led bulbs off amazon that i installed in the dash sockets and in the head light small bulb for the park/run function. i might try those in the turn sig lamps as well. depending what turn sig device you will have mounted to steer column or dash you will have to use adifferent flasher because of leds. orignally i changed the 12v to 6v incandescents. PFrancis, I have a '40 with a 6V, positive ground system (original). I bought motorcycle front directional turn signal lights (bullet style), gutted the LED innards, replaced with 1154 / 1157 bulb sockets (it's a tight fit), installed 1154 bulbs, and away we go. Barney

regardlesss of what you end up with you can obtain replacement LED bulbs here..https://www.ledlight.com/ To get the correct bulb you need to buy (ask a sales guy) them with the correct attachment style. (like offset bayonet.. I took a photo of mine and send to sales .. got a quick reply and suggestions for the correct bulb

Thank you all for the great response and ideas. My only question now is: could LED bulbs be incompatable with my 3 prong 6 V Napa flasher that I am using with stock 6 V taillight bulbs? I do have the 6 V LED "brake lighter" light installed in my rear window and it works fine. I did not know that LED bulbs may require a different flasher. Thanks again for the help.

pf,i too have the brakelighter 3rd in my rear window which isnt affected because it is not in turn signal circuit. i have all 4 turn sig wired separet from rear tail/stop lights. i assume you have your orig car rear lights .you may have to use incandescent bulbs in the front turn sigs lamps. i dont think incand and leds play well together. my turn sigs light i believe seem to be bright enough . Your flasher may not work after installing LED bulbs if it is not drawing enough current. Just add load resistors, they are available from Amazon. T-tap one on each circuit to ground.
