Topic: Shoebox Ford Section?

I’m new here and I probably should just keep my mouth shut for s while, but I’ve been wondering about a new section for ‘49 through ‘51 “shoebox” Ford V8’s.

Is there enough interest? I am biased because I just got a ‘49.

I will bring it up with the web site committee.

My opinion, for whatever that's worth:

I don't have a shoebox, but I do enjoy reading the posts about them. And the posts on other years are probably of interest to those with a shoebox. So why separate us?

A separate section was established years ago for the 1940 Ford, no doubt because so many members owned that year. But things have changed, as we all know too well. Now the 1940 page can go many days without a single posting. A separate shoebox page may see the same lack of activity.

I agree with Jay. All we need is one Forum, no need to separate us.

  A little history here.
The 1932 Ford Forum was started to go in line with the development and production of the updated 1932 Ford Book. It continues today because there is still a strong following, even after the book was published.

The 1940 Ford Forum was started for the same reason. And it continues today for the same reason as the 1932 Ford Forum.

There also was a 1949-1951 Mercury Forum to help research the development of the 1949-1951 Mercury Book. This forum was not as popular as the 1932 and 1940 Forums and the information that was posted was information that was covered in the book. Since the entries to the 1949-1951 Mercury Forum dried up after the book was published, it was removed.
