Can someone direct me on how the windshield wiper vacuum circuit is on a 1941 Station Wagon. What I need is where in the engine compartment it starts and how and where it enters the car thru the firewall. I do have a picture of the switch and linkage. Is it all rubber tubing or is there copper tubing in the engine compartment? Thank you.

This is what I have on my '46 Super Deluxe Coupe with the stock 59AB engine. There is a "silencer" that threads into the base of the carb, that also connects the banjo fitting that supplies vacuum to the distributor. A rubber hose connects to the silencer, and goes through the grommet (circled in yellow) in the firewall. Disregard the picture title, as I also passed some optional gauge leads through there. Thank you 51 Woodie. I would assume that the hose thru the firewall then goes up directly to the wiper switch. Are there any clips or clamps that route and anchor the hose under the dash? Thanks again!

From the parts illustration in the "Green bible" for the 1941 Ford it looks like the hose from the silencer on the intake manifold goes to the center port on the wiper switch. Then the left port hose on the switch goes to the left side port on the wiper motor and right port on the switch to the right port on the wiper motor. On my 42 there were no clamps. Ford always called right and left as they would be if you were sitting in the driver's seat. Or pilots left or right sitting in the cockpit for us old USAF veterans. Thank's for the reply's it looks like we have enough information for a start. Do you recommend squirting WD-40 or some other type of lubricant in the line to lube the wiper motor?

On my 42 I shot WD 40 into the ports on the wiper motor. The motor was NOS but stuck. After the 3rd day of WD "treatments" it came loose and has worked great since. Confident it won't hurt anything.

I filled the one for my '46 with ATF, soaked for a week, then drained and installed. It's been working well for the last two years.
