Hello all, I'm a new member and I've just acquired a 1947 Deluxe Fordor. Taking a quick look at the 1941-48 Ford book, I see on page 1-16 that the production figure for the 1947 Deluxe Fordor Sedan is only 20? Is that really correct? Also, the body type is stated as 73A, but I thought the body type of my 47 Deluxe was 79A. fyi....typo in topic. I meant 1947 not 1946 This message was edited by 47DeluxeFordor on 12-8-25 @ 4:21 PM

79A is the model number (1947) and 73A (Fordor) is the body type. I believe the production figure to be correct. I have a few questions for you. Single ashtray in the dash and round horn button, not a full horn ring? Is your exterior trim like a 46 or like a "normal" 47? In the V8 club 41-48 book there's a section describing the differences. You've made a wise first step by purchasing the book. John Kelley 1946-1948 advisor

The park lights are below the headlights and round, so this is not an early 47. There is only one ashtray. There is no horn ring, no radio, no vent window cranks, only 1 armrest and it's on the driver's door and no outside window trim. There are no rear seat ash trays. It does have 2 visors and the clock, both of which were apparently available as options for the Deluxe. It also has rear foot rests. I forgot to mention: It appears to have all original upholstery, headliner and door panels with no evidence of replacement. The passenger ashtray on top of the dash and radio both have the delete plates. It also has the Deluxe 8 (not Super Deluxe) front hood ornament. The passenger data book indicates that there were two sun visors so, I think that's normal and yes, the clock was an option. I have a 47 Deluxe business coupe and it also has the dual sun visors. One last questions for you. Are any of the glass "bugs" readable? As you already know you have a bit of a unicorn there! Years ago, I had one of the "bullnose" 47 Fords and thought that was unusual....

I didn't think to check the glass bugs when I inspected the car and it's now going to be shipped to my home, so I'll check the glass when it arrives.
