Topic: 1941 Ford 2 Door Coupe

MDarby    -- 10-09-2025 @ 1:13 PM
I am a new member. I have a 1941 Ford 2 door coupe that I am needing to replace the right rear quarter panel from about halfway above the rear tire to almost the trunk. Height wise it needs replaced from just below the crease in the body down if this makes any sense. I am wondering what year Ford and/or Mercurys are the same here as my 41. Thank you for any help.

Contact Dennis Carpenter to see if they can help you locate the part you need.

Thank you CarCrazy. I don't believe anybody makes patch or repair panels for a 1941. I've tried Dennis Carpenter , Bob Drake, CW Moss, EMS, EBAY, Early Ford Parts, and a few other metal fabrication companies and haven't had any luck. That is why I was wondering what years would be the same as I am sure I am going to have to go salvage yard scrounging.

The cars most closely related to the 1941 Ford are Fords from the 1942 to 1948 model years. Mercuries from 1941 to 1948 are similar and might work.

MDarby, try posting your request on The Ford Barn too. Lots of really good info and folks there also. Good luck.

While true that the 1941- 1948 Ford & Mercury coupe body's are the same. Be aware that there are to different coupe body's, a long door and a short door. You should call Mark Kicsak, he may still have some 1941-1948 Ford or Mercury parts cars. He is an expert on those year Ford & Mercury. He lives in south central New York State. His phone number is 607-729-1693. Call him soon as he goes to Florida for the winter. Fred Killian

Something changed in 1942 as the quarter panel starts with a 21A prefix instead of 11A. Used the same P/N thru 1948.
I suspect it's in the area of where the running board attaches as the 41 running boards are different than the 42-48. My guess is the later quarter will work but may require some modification or fabrication.
