Topic: 1951 Ford Custom Convetable Window Channel.

Hi guys, well, the heater saga is done. I’ve got good heat now. Thanks to everyone for the tips. I had a stuck valve and the blower was wired backwards. My ‘51 is still 6 v positive ground. I swapped the wires and it blows a nice breeze now.

Onto the next challenge: My Ford convertible had the wrong window channels. They were maybe 3/8” wide, closer to 5/16”. My windows at the top—the aluminum channel that frames the windows is easily 7/16” maybe close to 1/2”. Both my rear window regulators were bent and broken and they bent and broke the glass. I got them fixed and reinforced.

Does anyone know where I can find good 7/16-1/2” windows channels for my convertible. I’ve seen all kinds of things out there. Even junk on Amazon that might work. I don’t see anything in Shoebox Central or Dennis Carpenter with this wide of a channel.

Try Obsolete and Classic Auto in OK.
They list all kinds of channel by application and in bulk.

Don't know how long the strip is that you are ordering but the shipping might surprise you. I ordered two 60" strips for around the front windows on my Ranch Wagon along with one side strip along the vent window. The were shipped Fedex for just under $47.00. In their defense they did call and advise me of the oversize shipping costs before processing the order.
