Topic: fuel pump gasket 37-41 fuel bowl

I thought it would be easy enough to find a 2 1/4 in. o -ring to fit in my fuel bowl but it is not for me. Where to find proper gasket/ o- ring to fit in steel fuel bowl? they are difficult to cut out of gasket material being so thin and all. I thought an o- ring would seal best around the internal screen. Any advice?

For the steel bowl fuel pump W/O a glass bowl, you need Fuel Pump Top Cover Gasket #68-9364.

C&G has them in stock.

apply this dry or with spray gasket?

Apply a thin coating of Permatex #2 to the top surface only of the gasket to hold it in place when you tighten the fuel pump cover to the fuel pump. Make sure the bolt holding the cover to the pump is tight enough to prevent leaking but not so tight as to bend or otherwise harm anything.

the damage may already be done, and not a new brass screen to be found. At least not the original delicate brass framed ones. Any leads?
