It's been a long time since I last posted, but what are people doing about interior vinyl and/or fabric suppliers? I'd like to update the interior of my 1947 convertible, but how do you stay original without suppliers? Maybe I'm missing something but I've looked and can't find any sources for interior kits. Even a source for original broadcloth patterns would help. Any suggestions? David Daoust

David, Sadly, all the suppliers of interior kits for our vehicles are gone. Most people try to find an interior shop to work on their cars. The best-known supplier of fabrics is SMS Auto Fabrics in Canby, Oregon. https://smsautofabrics.com/ People have had mixed success with SMS. I will always be thrilled that my interior shop was able to source correct fabric from them for my 1950 Crestliner. Ken

Here is a listing of venders that provide upholstering services and/or materials. This information was put out by the Southern California Regional Group #11. It is a few years old so I have deleted the ones they listed that I know have gone out of business. I'm curious if you know whether or not Dearborn judging standards have/will be adjusted to account for the fact that these interiors are no longer available? David Daoust

I suspect that issue will be left up to the National Chief Judge and the Judging Standards Committee

I used fabric from SMS and an upholstery shop to do my 1947 Ford Convertible. Very happy with the results.

Daoust, Why would the standards be lowered because it is now more difficult to get correct fabrics? Cars were never judged according to cost of the restoration or whether or not a part was easily acquired. They are judged as to how they compare when the car was built. Period. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
