I’m restoring a 47 coupe. The lower cowl where the front fender bolts on was full of bondo and a 5/16-24 stud was molded in the bondo from the previous restoration. My question is; should it have a weld nut like the rest of the hole going up the cowl or is a welded stud correct? I looked in the handbook but can’t tell. I am cutting the corner of the cowl and welding in metal. Thanks in advance for the responses.

I believe all four of the rear fender mounting bolts have welded nuts in the cowl. At least my 48 was that way.
