Does your friend need the metal housings or simply the lamp assemblies? The metal housings show up on eBay quite frequently. They are the same 1942 - 1948. They are available from ThirdGen automotive, and they ship by USPS. Drake ships via FedEx, and when I was looking for one for my '46, the shipping was more that the lamp assembly. what do you guys think.from what the pics show the tail light assemblys look fine maybe their just needing bulbs Tom.

The lights look fine to me and possibly just need new bulbs. They may not be working due to bad grounding. also.
