I am restoring a 41 Ford PU that was my wife's father's farm truck. It is very rough but I can do it. In hunting for side window parts At a local swap meet I was told that there are two types of side windows. Mine has a metal trim that goes around the top and side (one piece) and there is some trucks with another type that does not have this metal piece around it. If this is true there should be a difference in glass size for each. What are the differences between the 40 & 41?Any help? David

The metal around the side windows came on the 42-47 cab. It probably got replaced at some time after the other one broke.

I did find a piece of bottom glass holder which was different in the bottom of the door. So, when ordering glass do I have to order 42 glass for the sides and 41 for front & back? This message was edited by tex42 on 11-7-16 @ 9:16 AM

Both my side windows have metal trim around them, I guess both were replaced. I was told 41 3/4 trucks had metal trim.

The 40-47 pickups use the same front and back glass. If both your windows have the metal frame then I would order glass for the 42-47 pickup. Check with the seller of the glass to make sure.
