Hi I have just purchased a 1947 Mercury 8 and wondering if someone may be able to tell me what each of the dash knobs controls operate please? Thank you.

You pull out the defroster knob to direct air to the windshield. The throttle is used to increase engine speed during warm up. Choke is used to start a cold engine and should be pushed almost all the way in after the engine starts. It will take many tries until you know how much your car requires from the choke and throttle.
