Topic: 1940 Ford Deluxe Oil Pressure Gauge

In removing the speedometer from The instrument panel I have created another problem in that the oil pressure gauge no longer functions . Is there a method to troubleshoot the problem and determine if the sending unit is malfunctioning or the gauge mounted in the instrument panel is the problem? The temp gauge and gas gauge seem to work ok.

Thank you
Jim

To determine if the problem is the sending unit or the gauge, ground the wire at the sending unit and turn on the ignition switch. The gauge needle will go to full oil pressure in a few seconds. Do not leave the ignition switch on for more than a few seconds as it is poossible to burn out the gauge.

I would check to see that the Black and Yellow wire is attached to the oil pressure gauge and that the connection is tight.
