  Door EDGE mounted?
Do you have their part number?

  Gene,
I feel your frustration. I drive my 1940 Fordor on 6-lane highways often; really need a useable RH mirror. Every mirror I tried wouldn't allow me to see around the 'bulge' at the center pillar. I ended up adding about a 2" extension to a mirror I obtained from Mac's. It's not ideal, but OK. If the mirror was a bit larger, I'd add a small convex mirror.

The best rear view mirror that I have found to see what is behind the car on the right side is the hinge mounted mirror available from C&G or Dennis Carpenter. These mirrors fit 1940 Fords and they work on the hinges of both the left and the right doors.

@carcrazy I second that emotion. It sounds like Gary is considering the peep mirror that attaches to the door with a couple of set screws. I have never liked them if for no other reason than the paint damage they can do.

This is what I use for a right side mirror. It gives a very good view from the driver's seat and can be easily removed from the vent window when you show the car. The downside is that you can't use the vent window. The illustration shows it installed on the windshield, I did not try that.

Problem with peep mirror, at least on my car, is not enough margin between door and gutter rail. Won't fit.

Problem with hinge mirror is getting the stuck-in-place hinge pin out.

TomO was nice enough to let me test drive his removable mirror on my car during our Group's last driving tour. I thought it was great! Good visibility, concave glass for wide view on the passenger side. Bought one for myself.
