Topic: 1947 tool kit

Looking in the 41 to 48 handbook, it says tool kits and pouch did not come with the cars in 47 or 48. I looked to see if it was an option and there is no mention of it. Could you purchase a tool kit with pouch from the dealer and would judges remove points if a tool kit was present? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Sorry, wrong group.

James, unless I am missing something, I believe you misinterpreted the book. Tools were standard issue with the '47. I believe it was only the adjustable wrench that was eliminated from the kit.

All tools were available from the dealer. Even in 1940, the grease gun, engine crank wrench and extension were no longer placed with the car upon the assembly line. Still, one could purchase those items from a dealer. However, there were specific designs for 1940. Thus, if a fellow wants to show the optional tools on the concourse, they must be correct.
