Does Airtex still make fuel pumps?Used to get pumps from NAPA and other places.I think the pump number was 591?What is the source for getting a good fuel pump these days?Seems like they are disappearing? Thanks,Russ

Don't know about 1940 but I have an Airtex on the 8ba in my '39 p/u. part # 9785 IIRC the Airtex part # for a 1940 flathead is 571. But I could be wrong ______________ No signature This message was edited by 51504bat on 5-5-25 @ 2:36 PM

You may be able to purchase a new Fuel Pump P.N. 68-9350 for 1933-42 vehicles with the metal bowl from Yesteryear Ford Parts. http://yesteryearfordparts.com/catalog1.pdf

If you're not a purist, you could use an electric pump. You could leave the original pump in place for looks; just remove the pushrod. Barney
