I am curious how other '40 cpe owners have come up with a passenger side mirror that is actually beneficial to seeing traffic ? Gene Talley

Several years ago when I bought a 1940 Ford Deluxe Tudor Sedan, I found the perfect answer to your question. I bought a Hinge Pin Mirror from Dennis Carpenter. It works great. I highly recommend this solution. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/trucks/door/door-hinges/48-18403-hinge-pin-mirror-wchrome-hing

If you are using the cowl mount mirror they are worthless as a mirror. The hinge mount mirrors are the best

As others have advised, Ford did not offer a useful right side outer mirror in 1940. You will need to install either a '39 hinge pin mirror or some kind of after-market mirror. Although Carpenter advertises the hinge pin mirror for 1940, it is not correct. It'll fit but again, it will not be correct. Gene, you know Kube wrote the book for the'40 and i totally respect his knowledge everything '40 but i would rather to see who could be beside me by having the hinge pin mirrors installed on both sides, which i do have on my '37. Tom.

I purchased an A-Abspro Blind Spot Mirror on Amazon to see what is on my right. I attached it to my vent window with the suction cup mount so it can be removed for National meets. It gives a very good view of the right side traffic. https://www.amazon.com/ABSOPRO-Adjustable-Rearview-Universal-Vehicles/dp/B082TXY224/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2ZIL52XRGIP4J&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-JZhSKh3JsQPQG6buFLYrj-dvNbLd3g-5-gshagPejKPRfFRBk3YpSt1WA5tILitg6i6l0qjK5Msykl344uecmK6cBnAAgWIecKRG1LfE1AClK5H28Cvv-5InidkmWmsYawqLKVoJUjaDnmzVh217CQXCGo6PPbTsjKhfxavmKhqIPHp_LBNTxNgoA51hyaPseFXUQx8eUDNKvnjoq9YxmPy9tuOkNZEDQIjIWTZpTA.CGRbaV3lGlETVW3yAGGLe9xTSKPWjyLomJNbObAfu18&dib_tag=se&keywords=ABSOPRO+Blind+Spot+Adjustable+Car+Mirro&qid=1745597754&sprefix=absopro+blind+spot+adjustable+car+mirro%2Caps%2C721&sr=8-1 The first photo shows the view from the driver's seat and the other photo shows it mounted on my car. Tom-- My sedan has the hinge pin mirror installed on the passenger side of the car. I knew it was useless as far as visibility went. But since I showed the car a lot, I thought that the installation of BOTH driver's side and passenger side hinge pin mirrors would "balance" the look of the car when viewed from the front. They are useless as mirrors if you use cowl mount mirrors. The best are the hinge mount mirrors. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/trucks/door/door-hinges/48-18403-hinge-pin-mirror-wchrome-hing bitlife online
